A LITTLE ABOUT ME

When I was a teenager, I worked as an intern with my uncle in the world of Bollywood, I fell in love with the magic behind the lens. Watching the hum of cameras on set, the artistry of colored filters, and the meticulous craft of shot divisions and mood boards, it all felt like stepping into a dream. It was in those moments that I realized storytelling was more than just words; it was visuals, emotions, and art woven together.

From there, my journey unfolded organically. I pursued my undergraduate degree in Fashion Communication at NIFT Kangra, where I explored graphic design, art direction, photography, and styling. I found myself drawn to capturing the raw beauty of nature and the mountains through my camera, letting the landscapes tell their stories. My graduation project led me to Discover India
Magazine, where a three-month internship taught me the art of magazine layouts and the intricate craft of photography.

The desire to refine my skills led me to Domus Academy in Milan, where I pursued a master’s degree in fashion and art direction. My time there was transformative. I collaborated with classmates on projects that brought our ideas to life in the most practical ways. Working with Vogue Italia on a short art video project, collaborating with Slam Jam and Biffi Boutique to develop e-commerce websites, and volunteering at Milan Fashion Week for Alexandra Moura were all opportunities that deepened my appreciation for creativity and storytelling.

One of my most cherished experiences was my graduation internship in London, where I worked with the renowned stylist Karen Clarkson, whose clients include Mark Ronson, Rita Ora, King Princess and Christina Aguilera. Karen taught me to see the story behind every element, every detail. Her guidance shaped my understanding of art and styling, and I carried her lessons with me when I returned to Milan to graduate.

Coming back to India during the pandemic was a period of reflection. I felt like time had paused, yet it taught me the power of patience. I soon began working as an assistant director in Mumbai, diving into the world of feature films. I was inspired by the dedication of the directors and editors I met their meticulous pre-production work, their conceptual thinking, and their unwavering passion. It took me back to my childhood, to the days of playing pretend as my mother or father, crafting stories with matchboxes because their designs sparked my imagination, and finding magic in the simple act of watching landscapes shift through a train window.

That nostalgia, paired with my evolving creative journey, solidified my calling as a storyteller. Direction became my way of showing the world the beauty in simplicity, the culture that surrounds us, and the emotions that unite us. My influences filmmakers and Art Directors like Kamal Amrohi, Satyajit Ray, Damien Leone, and Christian Marclay—taught me that boundaries don’t exist in art. Everything starts and ends with emotion, expressed through words, expressions, and visuals.
